Here at Waltham Estates, we are proud to have earned accreditation from the two main industry bodies ARLA and NAEA. For landlords and tenants alike, this provides peace of mind and assurance that the work that we carry out is in alignment with correct legal procedures and reflective of the quality of standard that official industry bodies demand. Let’s explore exactly what this means and how it defines the standard of service that you can expect from us.

ARLA, short for The Association of Residential Letting Agents, is a professional body for individuals working in residential property lettings and management in the United Kingdom. It is the foremost professional body, for letting agents in the UK. By becoming an ARLA accredited agency our credibility as an agent is certified and approved.

Client Money Protection Schemes (CMS)

A key benefit of this to our customers is automatic protection of all client monies through our participation in the Client Money Protection Scheme (CMS). This is a key benefit of our membership with ARLA and offers clients peace of mind knowing their money is protected. Not all agents can offer this so if you are looking to let your home it’s worth checking your chosen agency is part of a CMS. Further evidence of our commitment to protecting our clients money is our SAFE agent endorsement, which is a mark denoting that we protect landlords and tenants money through a client money protection scheme.

* A discount of £1.50 per tenancy deposit is offered by the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) for those members who have CMP through the scheme. *

To continue meeting legislation the guidelines ARLA members adhere to are heavily influenced by the latest government policy. Westminster, The Scottish Government and the Welsh Assembly consult with the organisation regularly with regards to changes to legislation.

National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA)

As well as our ARLA accreditation we are also members of NAEA. NAEA or the National Association of Estate Agents, is a professional body for estate agents and those dealing with residential and commercial sales.

Again the positive news for our customers is the peace of mind that comes from knowing we are affiliated with this regulatory body. All NAEA members agree to comply with the professional standards outlined within the Rules of Conduct and Code of Practice, outlined by NAEA. These rules were designed so that those that comply with them demonstrate high standards in estate agency; in keeping with legal requirements.

If things go wrong, NAEA Regulation allow them to investigate this matter for clients. They have the power to take action against any of their members that they feel have breached the Rules of Conduct & Code of Practice.
